In 2015, Vietnam submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In 2016, the Vietnam Government ratified the Paris Agreement and approved a plan for the implementation of the Paris Agreement through Decision No. 2053/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. Since then, new policies and legislations were adopted and the Government revised the now binding NDC including the baseline and mitigation scenarios. The GIZ supported the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the NDC revision and requested UNIQUE to support an update of the land use, land use change and forestry (LULUCF) sector of the NDC.

  • Review baseline and mitigation scenarios of the LULUCF sector in Vietnam’s NDC.
  • Provide recommendations for the update of the NDC’s for the LULUCF sector.
  • Provide support to the national consultant to update the NDC’s LULUCF sector.
  • Support the preparation of the technical background reports for the NDC’s LULUCF sector.
