Turkmenistan is an arid country where climate change is projected to have a significant impact on water resources. Due to the high vulnerability of the country to climate change, Turkmenistan started a National Adaptation Plan (NAP) development process that includes a wide range of stakeholders. In recent years, Turkmenistan has also implemented several important institutional changes. NAP Global Network engaged UNIQUE to conduct an institutional analysis to identify entry points that enable the integration of climate adaptation at the sectoral level. Further, UNIQUE provided specific recommendations on the strategic integration of adaptation considerations into sector planning and conducted capacity development activities.
