Carbon Project Developer – Climate (m/f/d)*

Unique land use GmbH is based in Freiburg, in the southwest of Germany and we are also present in Paraguay, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Kyrgyzstan.

To strengthen our highly motivated international team in the Climate Department we are looking for a: carbon project developer with working experience in land use and carbon accounting and management skills.

Job Description

  • Plan and manage carbon project portfolios of major clients in close coordination with the carbon accounting and the digital solutions team
  • Carbon accounting and contribution to the development of new services and certification according to relevant standards (in particular VERRA’s VCS and CCBS, Gold-Standard, and PlanVivo)
  • Advise our clients on developing and implementing large scale land use climate action projects, working pre-dominantly with forest enterprises and family farms.
  • Deliver high-quality products and services, including analytical work, quantitative assessments, and drafting of technical reports.

Requirements

  • Master degree (or PhD) in business administration, economics, forestry, agriculture, sustainability or related fields.
  • Ability to self-manage priorities, deadlines, and complex topics.
  • 5 years+ of professional experience in carbon-development field, preferably in an international work environment.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills, Intercultural team player.
  • Experience in managing and developing sustainable land use projects.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in English, proficiency in Spanish and / or French is major asset.
