Restaurierung degradierter Flächen mit heimischen Baumarten

Large deforested and degraded areas in Kalimantan need to be rehabilitated in a manner that the land contributes to the livelihoods of the local population while ensuring the provision of vital ecosystem services. This joint project with Fairventures Worldwide is funded by the German International Climate Initiative (ICI) and contributes to the Bonn Challenge. The Bonn Challenge is a global initiative that promotes Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR). The project develops a proof-of-concept for the rehabilitation of deforested lands in Kalimantan and contributes to the Bonn Challenge target. UNIQUE supported Fairventures Worldwide in demonstrating the technical feasibility of planting native tree species with local communities, and thereby enhancing the resilience of local farmers.
