The Biodiversity and Adaptation to Climate Change Program (BACCP) is a KfW Financial Cooperation Program that aims to protect the rich biological diversity and critical landscapes, ecosystems and habitats of Mongolia. The program began in 2012 and was limited to Mongolia’s northern, eastern and central region. Due to the success of the BACCP, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany committed additional funds for a second phase that includes a geographic expansion of the program. UNIQUE was contracted to carry out a feasibility study and to support the Ministry for Environment and Tourism in developing a feasible and KfW-fundable extension of the Biodiversity Conservation Program to Western and Southern Mongolia.
