In 2015, Vietnam submitted its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In 2016, the Vietnam Government ratified the Paris Agreement and approved a plan for its implementation. Since then, new sector policies and legislations were adopted and the Government revised the now binding NDC including the baseline and mitigation scenarios. The GIZ supported the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in this process. The objective of the assignment was to analyze the mitigation objectives for the agriculture sector and to support the NDC update process. UNIQUE was selected due to its support for the revision of relevant legal documents in the context of the GIZ biodiversity program and work for the FCPF Carbon Fund program.

  • Review baseline and mitigation scenarios of the agriculture sector in Vietnam’s NDC.
  • Support a diverse team of national consultants.
  • Provide recommendations for the update of the sector targets in the NDC.
  • Support the preparation of the technical background reports.
