Kohlenstoffzertifizierung in der Agroforstwirtschaft

By 2018, Burapha Agroforestry Co. Ltd had established 4,000 hectares of plantations in Laos PDR. The company is aiming to establish another 15,000 hectares of plantations through to 2021. The plantations are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified with an additional 20% of conservation areas managed under this project. Local villagers were actively involved at project start by planting and maintaining the plantations. The project also helped to improve villagers’ livelihoods through agroforestry models combined with Burapha’s philosophy of supporting local villages with development funds for infrastructure and social programs. Burapha is now also seeking to generate carbon benefits for the project and requested UNIQUE to provide the carbon project development, validation and verification support.
