Klimainteligente Milchwirtschaft
Hintergrund
Danone is committed to reduce GHG emissions 50% by 2030 and aims to achieve zero net emissions in the long term. As part of their Shared Responsibility scope, Danone pioneers ‘carbon positive’ in-setting programs that engage the farmers and suppliers along their supply chains through a holistic approach to sustainable agriculture. In Morocco, Danone invests through the Livelihoods Fund in a large-scale project with dairy farmers. The aim is to improve smallholder livelihoods by increasing milk production through climate smart feed production and better feeding practices. Additionally, the project seeks value chain integration, subsistence food production and development of agroforestry systems. UNIQUE supported the overall project design, the identification of climate smart farm production models and assessment of GHG in-setting potentials.
