Workshop: Participative Wertschöpfungsketten
Hintergrund
The Institute of International Forestry and Forest Products of the TU Dresden is currently implementing a research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to analyze the forest product value chains in Eastern Africa. Relevant value chains include bamboo, incense and gum arabic. Preliminary observations revealed the potential of a participatory approach in creating a platform for dialogue among the value chain actors to discuss options of designing and upgrading value chains. As part of the ongoing value chain analysis and development project, an international workshop was planned to publicize this approach and discuss ways for its further development. UNIQUE was commissioned by the TU Dresden to organize the international workshop held in Addis Ababa well as to organize and edit the workshop proceedings.
