"Best Forest Practice" manuals for Yungas and Chaco
Background
The European Union financed a sectoral program to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium sized forest and wood processing enterprises (COMPYMEFOR – Competitividad de Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas Forestales). In this context, UNIQUE was assigned to elaborate best practice manuals for the main forest ecological regions of Argentina.
Our contribution
- Elaboration of manuals, including the following subjects:
- i) Forest planning.
- ii) Silvicultural systems.
- iii) Reduced impact logging.
- iv) Forest road construction.
- v) Work safety and work hygiene.
- vi) Forest products and markets.
- Organization of decentralized workshops and dissemination of manuals in various vocational trainings.
