Ecological Services of the Municipal Forest of Murg
Background
The municipality of Murg has nearly 100 hectares of forest. According to the current forest management plan, the forests should be ecologically upgraded. These upgrades can be quantified to compensate potential ecological deterioration due to later construction planning. The evaluation of such compensatory measures is based on the German Federal Building Code (Baugesetzbuch).
UNIQUE was commissioned to quantify the upgrade measures and evaluate the possibility of attributing them to a so-called eco-account.
