Forest Management Modernization and Increasing Coastal Resilience
Background
Coastal forests in Vietnam are threatened by the expansion of agriculture and aquaculture. The World Bank is developing a lending program to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD) to provide protection for mangroves and other coastal forests. The objective of the project is to determine what investments are needed to increase the resilience of coastal forests and to promote sustainable investments in coastal forests. UNIQUE supported the MARD to prioritize coastal forest protection measures and to identify sustainable business models that can protect coastal forests.
