Background

Forest management planning is the central medium-term planning and management tool in Germany. The harvesting, tending, and regeneration measures for the next 10 years are planned, new maps are created, and a forest condition assessment is carried out. In doing so, production, protection, and recreation objectives must be brought into balance. In 2025, the forestry association “Jerusalemsberg-Leiningerwald” in Rhineland-Palatinate commissioned Uniqie to carry out forestry management planning for its 2,500 hectares of land (owned by 9 municipalities). The areas were located on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. The planning included targeted measures to increase climate resilience and had a commercial forestry focus.
