Forest Projects Supported by German Financial Cooperation
Background
Germany’s international development cooperation places significant importance on restoring degraded forest landscapes to address climate change and build green economies. The KfW development bank has a long history of supporting forest conservation and afforestation through various financial mechanisms. UNIQUE was commissioned to review past KfW-financed projects in order to identify lessons learned. This assessment provided recommendations for the design of future forest landscape restoration projects.
