Yield and Economic Study
Background
Due to the different area sizes of plantations in Uganda, the related yield of the individual growers and their economic information requirements are also very diverse. UNIQUE was commissioned to estimate the potential harvest volume from plantations in different agro-ecological zones and financial modeling.
Our contribution
- Assessment of the yield and economic basics in the forestry sector.
- Development of a primary database using published data.
- Estimation of future timber supply based on the existing plantations.
- Analyzing the financial implications of different scenarios in terms of cash-flow.
- A sensitivity analysis to highlight parameters which influence yield estimates the most.
- Development of plantation management scenarios.
