Business Strategies for Logging Entrepreneurs
Background
Despite a protracted period of good timber prices and high felling activities, the economic situation of many logging entrepreneurs in Germany and also in the federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg is currently poor. This is partly due to circumstances outside the control of business, but internal management improvements can also be made to improve these businesses’ financial situation. By means of a survey, UNIQUE assessed all logging entrepreneurs in Baden-Wuerttemberg to develop solutions and more viable business strategies. Options identified relate to enhancing cooperation between entrepreneurs and their clients, as well as enhancing collaboration and communication amongst the logging entrepreneurs themselves.
