Conservation and Sustainable Use of Forest Biodiversity
Background
Biodiversity and forests play a vital role in ensuring the livelihoods of rural populations. As Viet Nam committed to a number of international forest and biodiversity conservation initiatives its forestry policies are currently undergoing a paradigm shift from production-oriented to multifunctional forest management. In this context the GIZ intends to improve legal prerequisites for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services of forests in Viet Nam. Considering our technical and country-specific expertise UNIQUE was chosen to provide advisory services to the programme management and legal framework development besides providing technical advisory support and Human Capacity Development to national partners.
