Landscape Investment Opportunities for Private Sector
Background
The Government of Ethiopia is aiming to restore 10 million hectares of degraded and deforested lands in line with the forest landscape restoration (FLR) approach. Related public investments by the government and development partners are significant, but not sufficient as outlined in the latest Nationally Determined Contributions. Hence, the World Bank contracted Unique to assess private landscape investment opportunities at national or sub-national level, including strategies to attract booming carbon markets. Unique implemented the assignment together with Climate Focus.
