Proposal Development for the Green Climate Fund
Background
Ethiopia’s Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) strategy is guiding the country to attain middle-income status and a zero emission growth by 2025. The CRGE Facility is the management and financial mechanism of the CRGE housed in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. Ethiopia is currently in the process of accrediting the CRGE Facility with the Green Climate Fund and is simultaneously developing proposals to be co-financed by the Green Climate Fund. UNIQUE recently supported the design of the REDD+ programme and the Forest Sector Review in Ethiopia. Therefore, we have been assigned to support the development of the Forest Mitigation and Adaptation Progamme. UNIQUE supported the financial & climate benefit modelling, the development of the transformational theory of change, the management and performance framework and the risk analysis.
