Support the Development of TCAF Pre-PIN for CSA Pilot Program
Background
The Transformative Carbon Asset Facility (TCAF) is a new results-based climate finance facility of the World Bank that supports policy driven mitigation actions at scale. One of the current focuses of TCAF is unlocking crediting opportunities through climate-smart agriculture (CSA). UNIQUE previously supported the World Bank to explore CSA crediting opportunities within the Pakistan Punjab Agriculture and Rural Transformation P4R Project. A fertilizer e-voucher scheme was identified as a potential TCAF pilot. For this assignment, UNIQUE was contracted to further develop this pilot by preparing a Preliminary Program Information Note (Pre-PIN) and providing additional methodological and analytical support to the World Bank and Pakistan government partners.
Our contribution
- Support the World Bank team and Pakistan government partners in preparing a TCAF CSA Pre-PIN.
- Develop a methodology for quantifying GHG emission reductions accruing from the fertilizer e-voucher scheme.
- Identify data and models to apply the GHG mitigation methodology effectively in the project region.
- Provide training to country partners to build their capacity to meet TCAF requirements.
- Conduct an on-site mission to support the conceptualization discussion with the government.
