In order to ensure flight clearance for airport runways of Frankfurt-Hahn, certain trees must be removed. Various municipal forest areas are affected by these fellings. UNIQUE was commissioned to determine the resulting economic disadvantages for local forest owners according to current forest valuation guidelines. Based on a forest inventory of the concerned forest areas, the disadvantages of premature use or changes in the production target were evaluated. For one forest area a comparison of two scenarios employing different management concepts was carried out and evaluated economically. Additionally, management measures for a Natura 2000 site within the analyzed zone were elaborated in order to fulfil conservation needs while ensuring safety.

- Valuation of current value and loss due to premature use for 12 hectares of forest.
