Client

Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL)

In a first cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the BMEL in 2014, several challenges for the Serbian forestry sector were identified. Due to political changes in the region, the Serbian forestry sector required updating to facilitate the implementation of modern forest management. This second cooperation project addresses the lack of practical orientation in vocational training and the missing practical postgraduate training programs. UNIQUE and HessenForst supported the Serbian forestry sector in implementing the previously developed and improved forest management planning and monitoring methodology for vocational training and practical training.

  • Final preparation and formal approval of the forest management planning and monitoring methodology.
  • Preparation of new management guidelines.
  • Development and implementation of a licensing procedure for forest engineers by the Forestry Chamber.
  • Improvement of the professional training of forest technicians.
  • Improvement of the basic professional knowledge of forest workers.
  • Promotion of long-term partnerships between Serbian and German institutions.
