Development of a National Forest Program

The Serbian Government is striving to systematically improve the forest resources of the country within the next 10 to 20 years. The Forestry Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection launched a revision of the draft National Forest Program for Serbia (NFPS) with the aim of clearly defining priorities and developing an action plan for the sector. The GIZ DKTI program provides support to the Forestry Directorate in achieving these tasks. UNIQUE was contracted to analyze existing forest information as a first step in updating the NFPS. Based on these results, a series of recommendations and activities will be developed for the NFPS.
