An increased number of german private forest owners don’t live in rural areas, and are therefore difficult to reach trough traditional communication channels. Additionally, these “urban” forest owners deal less and less with their forest properties. The project KomSilva, funded by FNR , assessed the obstacles and incentives in adressing private forest owners. This resulted in needs-oriented training and communication tools and manuals. The project aimed to stregthen regional forestry stakeholders in their daily work and herewith enhance the acceptance for forestry within the society in a sustainable manner. Project partners of UNIQUE were the committee for forestry work and forestry technology (KWF), the Technical University of Munich, and the Forestry and Wood Cluster Initiative Bavaria.

  • Development of tools to address private forest owners.
  • Online trainings for multipliers.
  • Social media strategies and development of a manual.
  • Evaluation and adaptation of developed tools.
