Monitoring and Communication for Forestry Change Processes

Private forests are one of the dominant forms of ownership in North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW), with approximately 600,000 hectares. Consulting services for these forests are facing a change: Private companies will now be able to compete with a state-sponsored company, thereby changing the market landscape and increasing competition. UNIQUE supported the transition process by developing and implementing a communication strategy. In cooperation with private forest owners, forestry associations and forestry offices, opportunities and prospects for private forest management were discussed in regional events. UNIQUE prepared a web-based dialogue platform on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment of NRW and moderated the change process.
