Benchmarking Forest Cooperations

Due to the withdrawal of the state forest administrations, forestry associations (FWZ) are increasingly required to guarantee their own profitability. FWZ are often primarily focused on member administration or day-to-day operations and capacities for strategic planning and management are often scarce. As part of the Forest Strategy 2020, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture commissioned Unique and “AGDW – Die Waldeigentümer” to develop a system of indicators. The FWZ are supported in their professionalization via assistance in collecting and analyzing organizational, natural and economic key figures. Unique was entrusted with the project coordination and developed a platform for the annual retrieval and evaluation of the key figures.
