The over-exploitation of water resources, land degradation and climate change are aggravating the issues of the agricultural sector in Tunisia. Training and extension programs provided by state agricultural advisory services are limited and not sufficiently adapted to farmers’ needs. In this context, GIZ implements the programme “Promotion of sustainable agriculture and rural development in Tunisia” (PAD II). It seeks to strengthen climate change adaptation in the Northwest and Central West regions of Tunisia. UNIQUE was contracted to support the application and training of good agricultural practices. They should improve the productivity, management and market integration of climate-resilient agricultural products.

  • Identification of three good agricultural practices (GAP) for thematic trainings.
  • Technical and pedagogical training of nine national GAP trainers.
  • Implementation of 40 GAP training events with the involvement of at least 1,000 farmers.
  • Organization of a national conference reflecting the project´s results and recommendations.
