EBRD is considering to provide technical assistance financing to assess the feasibility for a carbon farming project in Uzbekistan. The carbon project will support one of the largest Uzbekistani cotton producers, Agro LLC, to reach net zero and potentially produce carbon credits. The project may help the company to improve their ecological footprint and compensate unavoidable emissions through their own operations. The project may also generate additional revenue through branding or price premia for the company and its products as well as from tradeable carbon credits that may be generated through the project. Unique’s task was to analyze respective changes in the business model of Agro LLC and potential ways to cost-effectively produce carbon offsets or insets. The project included a financial viability assessment.

  • Carbon scoping study and baseline definition to assess impact potential
  • Review carbon inset and offset possibilities to determine the most suitable option
  • In-depth carbon feasibility study to tailor project activities towards certification
  • Provide advisory services regarding project implementation
