Tasar Silk Forest Carbon Project

In 2022, CSL initiated a 20-year carbon project in collaboration with a private company. The project aims to afforest 2,000 hectares of wastelands in Jharkhand and West Bengal, India, using Tasar silk-host trees. Implementation began in May 2022, with plantations initiated from June to October. While proficient in on-the-ground implementation, the complexities of carbon-related tasks necessitate expert support. Unique was contracted to support on achieving Verified Emission Reductions, guiding the project from pipeline listing to Verra standard-aligned registration and monitoring. Objectives include project description (PD) preparation, validation, periodic monitoring report creation, and verification. Unique offered ongoing support to ensure seamless project execution, contributing to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
