Forest Report for the PEFC Region Rhineland-Palatinate

Almost 80% of the forest areas in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland are PEFC (Pan European Forest Certification) certified. To extend these regions’ currently valid PEFC certification, a forest report is created every 10 years. In this forest report, various indicators and criteria for forest management are analyzed and interpreted, and new goals are formulated for improving forest management in accordance with the PEFC criteria. Unique was commissioned by the PEFC working groups of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland to prepare the regional forest reports. In particular, data from the Bundeswaldinventur 4 was interpreted and graphically prepared.
