South South Cooperation for Soil Restoration

Land degradation across the global South is a major contributor to the loss of carbon sinks and a drag on the growth of rural livelihoods. Increasing soil organic carbon in agricultural landscapes is an important means of reversing this trend. UNIQUE has invested into KOFAR, a Kenyan company that produces and sells organic fertilizer. CCAFS hired UNIQUE to conduct South-South cooperation activities in order to share lessons from Kenya in Paraguay, Morocco, India, and elsewhere. UNIQUE hosted two webinars to facilitate South-South cooperation on the use of organic fertilizer.
