External Technical Expert - Focus on Environmental Protection

The KfW supports the government of Cameroon in its forest policy, sustainable forest management, and the management of protected areas through basket funding. The support includes the development of a strategy to reduce carbon emissions from deforestation and forest degradation as well as the related land use planning at the regional and local levels. This shall also help resolve conflicts between the forest, agriculture, and mining sectors and their respective use claims. Unique was contracted to assess the technical aspects of proposed project activities (design and implementation, cost estimates, microeconomic analyses, environmental and social impacts), and to support the preparation and implementation by reviewing tender documents, design documents, bid evaluations, commenting on project progress reports, and commenting on technical issues.
