The unsustainable cultivation of agricultural commodities often causes problems because of the excessive use of pesticides, deforestation and unstable incomes for farmers. Only a small part of the processing of agricultural raw materials and value creation takes place locally. The global project “Sustainability and Value Creation in Agricultural Supply Chains” is part of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development’s “One World without Hunger initiative. The project’s Cameroon Country Package aims to increase the sustainability of the national cotton supply chain. Unique was commissioned to assess the Cameroon Country Package as part of an evaluative study against the six criteria of the Development Assistance Committee (DAC) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

  • Development of evaluation design and instruments
  • Coordination with GIZ and partners
  • Document analysis, focus group discussions, interviews
  • Efficiency analysis (allocation and production efficiency)
  • Contribution analysis
  • Evaluation of the project according to OECD-DAC criteria
