The lack of economic incentives for sustainable management of forest resources has led to deforestation and land degradation in the Amazon region. The Development Partnership (DPP) between GIZ, Symrise Aromas e Fragancia Ltda. and Industria e Comercio de Cosmeticos Natura Ltda aims for sustainable use and recovery of rainforest resources in three Amazonian regions by strengthening existing and developing new supply chains of native species‘ products, such as fruits, nuts, oil and essences. The objective of this assignment was a mid-term review evaluation of this DPP project according to criteria of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Capacity WORKS success factors.
