Food security and livelihoods in Central Asia are threatened by increasing climate risks, including rising temperatures and erratic rainfall, which contribute to land degradation. GIZ supports sustainable development and climate adaptation, with a focus on the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector in the region. The specific objective of the project was to support GIZ in developing a comprehensive Green Climate Fund (GCF) funding proposal, a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) monitoring plan, financial mechanisms, and operational manuals for the GCF-funded project “Climate Resilient Landscapes in Central Asia.” Unique formed a multidisciplinary team to ensure technical soundness and regional relevance, setting the stage for its tangible contribution.
