There is a convergence of interests in promoting Climate-smart Agriculture (CSA) among key stakeholders – local communities, national and multinational agribusiness and food industries, national governments and, increasingly, consumers. USAID is supporting private sector involvement in small holder agriculture through its Feed the Future program. The objectives of the project are: a) Creating an enabling environment for investment in CSA; b) Incubating innovative, climate smart and inclusive agriculture businesses in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Uganda that lend themselves to private investment; and c) Accelerating deployment of private capital into scalable CSA businesses.
