Assessment for Market Promotion of the Livestock Sector

The World Bank seeks to enhance private sector engagement and leverage private sector finance, capacity, and innovations for the animal protein sector in Ethiopia and Tanzania. Unique conducted a comprehensive market study that analyzed the business environment, comparative advantages of regional and potential livestock markets, and how to promote private investments to reach them. The study focused on (i) understanding markets and the financial landscape, (ii) stocktaking existing, ready-to-go, scalable innovations, and (iii) identifying solutions for and enabling an environment that fosters private sector participation and investments. The study aimed to understand challenges and present solutions for private capital mobilization and private-sector participation, particularly upstream innovations and technological development.
