The Government of Peru plans the public investment program “Sustainable Forest Management in Peru”. It is financed by a EUR 60 million credit from the German bilateral financial cooperation of KfW Development Bank. The consortia UNIQUE-GITEC was commissioned to support the National Forestry Service SERFOR to conduct the feasibility study for the program, and develop the following Public Investment Projects (PIPs) that conform the program: Improvement and expansion of forest plantations in 8 Departments (PIP 1); improvement and expansion of sustainable forest production in natural forests in 4 Departments (PIP 2); improvement and up scaling of forestry planning in 10 Departments (PIP 3). PIP 1 was financed directly by the Peruvian Government.
- Sector analysis and revision of existing pre-feasibility studies.
- Elaboration of program documents according to Peruvian legislation.
- Moderation of stakeholder participation and validation workshops.
