About 50 indigenous communities live in the Peruvian Amazon. The pressure on their land is increasing from infrastructure and resource extraction projects, timber companies and settlers. The global program ‘Responsible Land Policies’ (GV VLP) forms part of the BMZ initiative „ONEWORLD without Hunger“. The Peru country package is being implemented as part of the GV VLP. It aims at improving recognition of land property and land use rights for indigenous communities in the Peruvian Amazon. UNIQUE was contracted to evaluate the country package Peru against the six criteria of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC), including the empowerment of women on land governance.

  • Evaluation design and instruments developed
  • Coordination with GIZ and partners
  • Analysis of documents, identification of focus groups and interviews with representatives
  • Assessment of the project against OECD-DAC criteria
